The Grammy Awards 2013.

The Grammy Awards is the most exciting red carpet in the middle of awards season, because it is guaranteed to be different and it was. Music’s finest turned up in an upbeat mood compared to last year’s sombre ceremony. Beyonce and Adele eschewed the norm by wearing a monochrome jumpsuit whilst Adele was pretty in a baby doll long sleeved floral dress. These are the trends that made it onto the Grammys red carpet.

Long Sleeves. While most shoulders and arms were bare, Katy Perry, Jenna Jameson, Faith Hill and Adele turned up unexpectedly covered from shoulders to sleeves in long sleeved gowns and dresses.

High Slits. Legs and a bit of thigh were on display for Jennifer Lopez, SWV, Maria Menounos and Christine Teigen as slits were cut high at the thigh.

Red Hot. Red is having a big moment on the Awards red carpet lately and Rihanna, Natasha Bedingfield, Skylar Grey didn’t miss out on the fun.

Cut Outs. Alicia Keys, Kelly Osbourne, Kelly Rowland and  know that cut outs are the sexiest ways to show a bit of skin while keeping it classy.

Black. So many celebrities showed up in black making it the biggest colour trend for the Grammys red carpet.

Menswear. The men in music cut fine figures in their various colourful suits and tuxedos. Nas, Drake and LL COOL J spruced up the traditional tuxedo by wearing gold, off-white and navy blue jackets respectively.

Screen Actors Guild Awards 2013

Awards season is now in full swing, we’ve had the Golden Globes, Critics’ Choice Awards and now the 2013 Screen Actors Guild Awards also known as the SAGs.
The Golden Globes red carpet this year was filled with a sea of red gowns, however the Screen Actors Guild Awards was all about navy. Jennifer Lawrence and Marion Cotillard are in sync this award season as they both opted for strapless navy gowns by Dior. Here’s a few other trends to make it onto the SAGs red carpet.

Navy. It was a sea of navy blue as Jennifer Lawrence, Marion Cotillard, Amanda Seyfried and Nicole Kidman stole the show in their strappless navy blue ensembles which made it the colour of the night.

Strapless. Gorgeous frocks came off the shoulder for Jennifer Garner, Lea Michele, Jessica Chastain and Tina Fey.

Black and White. Julianna Margulies, January Jones and Julianne Moore upped they style stakes by showing up in one of the hot trends for spring/summer 2013.

Suit and Tie. Always and elegant classic for menswear, Ben Affleck, Justin Timberlake and Eddie Redmayne brought the suave to the Awards in their choice of suits.


Embroidery. Delicate embroidery done in beads, sequins and feathers told its own tale on the gowns of Naomi Watts, Kerry Washington, Jayma Mays and Ellie Kemper.

The Golden Globe Awards 2013.

Award season teed off with the Golden Globes to celebrate the best in Television and Movies. Top actresses upped their game with custom-made gowns from top fashion houses which made for a red carpet drenched in style. These are some of the Red carpet trends at the Golden Globe Awards.

Red. Definitely the color of the night, the red carpet competed with Zoey Deschanel, Jennifer Lawrence and Marion Cotillard amongst others decked out in red gowns.

Sparkles. Forever a girl’s best thing, Jennifer Lopez, Kaley Cuoco, Lea Michele and Isla Fisher lit up the red carpet in their sequins and beads encrusted gowns.

Plunging Necklines. Sexy was the name of the game  for Kate Hudson, Katherine Mcphee and Amy Poehler whose necklines were not only revealing but plunging.

Lace. For Megan Fox, Eva Longoria, Amanda Seyfried and Giuliana Rancic, the intricate details on their gowns were told in form of lace.

Dark Colors. It being fall, colors on the red carpet were dark and rich from Naomi Watts burgundy gown, Taylor Swift in plum purple to Salma Hayek's black gown.

The People’s Choice Awards 2013.

The People’s Choice Awards hosted by Kaley Cuoco recently took place and brought with them a few unexpected surprises on the red carpet- Jennifer Aniston and Naomi Watts. Considering the relaxed feel of the awards, there was a slew of floor length gowns and sexy styles out on the red carpet.

 All White. It is no secret that everyone looks good in this classic monotone. Taylor Swift went sexy in a floor length white gown with a plunging neckline, Morena Baccarin in an all white off the shoulder jumpsuit while Ellen Pompeo and Regina King decided to break the monotony of their white dresses with touches of black.

Black. Perenially chic - black accented with sequins, a pop of colour and fringe from Heidi Klum, Sandra Bullock and made for an elegant red carpet.

Color. Brighter shades stood out on the red carpet in the form of Lea Michele, Rachel Leigh Cook, Chloe Grace Moretz amongst others.

Embellishment. Naomi Watts shimmered in gold and black as  Rumer Willis sparkled in black and silver while Kaley Cuoco turned out in a feather embellished number.

The American Music Awards 2012.

Slits, sequins ruled the American Music Awards red carpet as the music industry came out once again to support music’s top names and performances. These are some of the trends that made it onto the 40th American Music Awards red carpet.

Short Hemlines. Legs for miles were on display as celebrities turned out in short and sweet dresses. Heidi Klum wowed in her gold mini dress with matching shoes while Kesha surprised everyone in her lady like look.

Slits. There is nothing like a high slit to show off a bit of leg. Up to there slits made a huge return to the red carpet courtesy of Christina Aquilera, Jennifer Morrison amongst others.

Embroidery. Gwen Stefani, Taylor Swift and Stacy Kiebler stole the show in their intricately beaded and embroidered ensembles.

Sequins. What’s an awards show without a bit of glitter and shimmer? Sequins and glitter from more than one gown lit up the American Music Awards red carpet.

Monotone. A bonafide colour of choice for fall, Rocsi Diaz, Zendaya and Hilary Scott went full black for the awards.

Stylishly male. From smart casual to full out dressy; Psy, Lance Bass and Fifty Cent showed how it should be done with their style choices.

Color. Pastels stood out amongst the bold from Gloria Estefan to Kerry Washington.

The MTV Europe Music Awards 2012.


It was time for Europe to recognize and award music’s greatest in Frankfurt, Germany during the MTV EMAs. This meant oodles of gorgeous dresses down the red carpet from the music industry’s finest. Rita Ora stunned in her red Marchesa gown as the rest opted for black frocks. Alicia Keys’ showed off a sleek hairdo in her Stella McCartney dress as Taylor Swift glowed in her 1920’s inspired J.Mendell panel dress. Here’s a look at some of the trends that made it down the MTV EMAs 2012 red carpet.

Black is everything. Black was definitely the colour of the night as not more than one celebrity showed up in anything else. Anne V, Isabeli Fontana and Kim Kardashian amongst others wore full black ensembles as their colour of choice.

Color. From Alicia Keys in green to Rita Ora’s several red looks, colorful frocks did not go amiss on the MTV EMAs red carpet.

Dashingly male. The males brought their A-game to the Awards in casual chic to stylishly male. PSY drew on his signature tuxedo while Ludacris took to all black.

In the eight. Heidi Klum rocked nine Versace ss13 as hostess of the Europe Music Awards and did not disappoint. From the red carpet on to the stage, some looks were better than others and these were her best.

 On Stage.  Gwen Stefani continued her color of choice- black on to the stage whilst Rita Ora stuck to red for her performance on the MTV EMAs stage.

The Country Music Awards 2012.

Several fashionable stars wowed with their red carpet looks as they turned out for the Country Music Awards. Taylor Swift continued with her favorite color of the moment-red whilst Host Carrie Underwood changed clothes no fewer than twelve times throughout the evening.
From plunging necklines, beaded gowns to a surprising Cheetah print, the looks were sophisticated and the accessories stunning.

Embellishment. From Taylor Swift to Reba McEntire the CMAs red carpet didn’t lack for sparkle with all the embellished gowns.

Couple Co-ordination. A few couples were in a playful as they decided to match their outfits to each other. For Faith Hill and Tim McGraw it certainly did not stop to only the red carpet.

In the twelve. Carrie Underwood changed a whooping twelve times but these, we feel, were some of her best outfits for the night.

Color. Some celebrities brought the color to the Country Music Awards in bright and pale sherbet shades.

Black. All black with a pop of colour here and there is a classic trend. Hayley Scott sparkled in her black ensemble whilst Jennifer Nettles showed off her baby bump in her black dress.

The 64th Primetime Emmy Awards.

The 64th Primetime Emmy Awards recently took place to honour the best on Television and as usual, it was glamorous gowns and black tuxedos with a few changes here and there. Here are some of the red carpet trends at the Emmys.

Sheer Panels. The incorporation of sheer panels on confections of dresses makes for the most naughty but innocent of looks and this is why celebrities can’t get enough of it especially for many a red carpet events.


Pops of Colour. There is nothing like wearing a colorful gown to stand out in the crowd. Colors from burgundy, Orange, Purple amongst others popped on the Emmys’ red carpet like never before.


Sunny Yellow. Yellow certainly came out to play as not more than three stars made an entrance on the carpet in various shades of this sunny color. Clearly, they all needed a mood pick me up and no colour does it better than yellow.


All shades Grey. Grey is the NEW black! The Emmys red carpet saw the various  shades of Grey from a lot of stars noting it as one of the colors for the season.


A Bow Tie Affair. The men looked dashing in their black tie whilst others gave us a few surprises in the changes made to the normal tuxedo. Variations were made to the bowtie and shirts in stead of the normal black and white tuxedo.


Embellishments. Sequins and beads sparkled on the Emmys red carpet as celebrities came decked out in the shiniest and metallic of gowns.

MTV Video Music Awards 2012.

The MTV Video Music Awards honor the best and brightest of the music industry and are always an amazing show for lovers of fun fashion. Here’s a look at some of the trends that made it on the red carpet. 

Masculine Chic. The pantsuit is becoming a favorite amongst celebrities as it is no stranger to the red carpet lately.

 Sheer and lace. Sheer continues to gain popularity especially if you want to show off a bit of skin in the right places. Amber Rose showed off her baby bump in a sheer and lace number that hugged all the right curves.

 All Black everything. All black practically ruled the Video Music Awards red carpet as one of the chicest trend for many.

 Body suit. Made famous by Jennifer Lopez and Katy Perry. Nicki Minaj and Rita Ora showed their love for the trend too at the Video Music Awards.

 Monochromatic. The monochromatic look made a return to the red carpet at MTV Video Music Awards. Rihanna stunned in an all white floor length gown and so did Alicia Keys.

 Smart Casual. There is nothing like dressing for comfort while trying to impress. The men pulled off the smart casual trend and did not disappoint.
