Cover Up In Cape Coats.

This year, capes are dominating catwalks and red carpets alike, with the elegant cover-up spilling over into evening wear. Once known mostly as a superhero style staple, the fashion world has gone wild for capes this season with Miu Miu, Comme des Garçons and Givenchy all incorporating the look into their collections.
While Miu Miu showed mannish tailoring and tweed prints in Paris, Comme des Garçons opted for bright, oversized coat-style capes. At Givenchy, Riccardo Tisci shared his take on the trend with an edgy jet black and bejewelled mini version of the must-have item. While a statement cape works wonders for a standout evening look and flatters any dress style and length, the opportunities for a great daytime look are also endless.

Lace Connections.

Who said Fall fashion had to be so heavy? The Fashion industry’s biggest names were looped into a lighter trend when it came to Autumn/Winter13 perfect for party dresses: Lace.
Dolce and Gabbana, Alexandre Herchovitch showed full lace frocks while, Carven and Simone Rocha worked with lace accents and separates. And a new way to wear the old school fabric emerged at Sacai and Michael Kors, where intricate edges peeked out from underneath cardigans and mini-dresses.

A lace detail is the perfect way to warm up an otherwise frosty cold-weather evening ensemble. Let a feminine slip show from under a dress, or layer up with a lace blouse. Separates feel like an update to the standard one-piece formal look. When done right; lace is one of those trends that makes you look quite elegant and sophisticated. It is no wonder Lace has become a red carpet staple for so many a celebrity, lately.
